About
Hi, and welcome!
I’m Rachel, and I run this website and YouTube channel with my husband, Aaron. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ll use this page to chat about this website and channel, but if you’d prefer to get stuck straight into travel planning, you can skip to our travel guides here.
What you’ll find on this Website

Our aim is to provide simple, informative videos, written guides, maps and itineraries to help you plan your own trips. Everything we share is based on travel we fit around our 9-to-5 jobs, focusing on making the most of those well-deserved holidays within the limits of annual leave. While most of our content focuses on Europe, we’ll occasionally cover destinations further afield too.
Our travel style is fairly moderate. We like to see and do a lot, but our itineraries aren’t rushed. Budget-wise, we usually fall somewhere in the mid-range. Not luxury travel, but not travelling on a shoestring either.

How & Why We Started Our Travel Place
Our Travel Place began as a YouTube channel. After enjoying binge-watching travel vlogs for several years, I decided to start filming our holidays and days out. Not only had I found a fun new hobby (filming and editing) that combined perfectly with my all-time favourite passion (travel), but I also liked the idea of building a collection of video memories from our trips to look back on in the years to come.

But I quickly realised I didn’t like being on camera. At all. As someone who can’t stand being the centre of attention, this probably shouldn’t have come as a surprise!
However, I discovered that I did enjoy capturing the places we visited from behind the lens and editing everything together afterwards. I love getting stuck into holiday research almost as much as the travel itself. I’m that person who has spreadsheets for everything, so I like packing my videos with useful information and handy tips to make them as helpful as possible.
Aaron, who has been passionate about photography for many years, also enjoys helping out with the videography side of things. So rather than deleting the channel in embarrassment and pretending it never existed, I pivoted our style to something that suited us better. Now, instead of personal travel vlogs of our holidays, we create destination-focused video guides and itineraries.
While the videos do still include a personal element, as they are based on our own experiences, advice, and recommendations, the focus is very much on the destination.
Fast forward a couple of years of making YouTube videos, and I decided it would be a good idea to complement them with this blog. Quite often, I felt that written content could add extra detail to the information shared in our videos, and vice versa. It also makes it much easier to share useful links and maps without trying to squeeze everything into a YouTube description.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading! I hope you find our guides helpful.

Hello!
I would like to ask you about your travel to Sevilha! I watched the video and I would like to understand how do you buy the ticket without extras for Las Setas
Ah, it looks like the viewing platform only ticket isn’t available on the website anymore. However I had a look at recent reviews and someone said they do still offer viewing platform only, but a limited number per time slot (and it isn’t well advertised!).
Hi
Just discovered your YouTube video of Malaga and really enjoyed it. Loved the format and loads of helpful info for us to use on our trip there. Thank you so much!
This is some of the best photography and videography I’ve ever seen. May I ask — what camera(s) do you use? What software do you use to process and edit your videos?
Thank you so much! Our main camera is a Fuji XT4 but we also use our phones quite a bit, and sometimes an old go pro 🙂 To edit I use Adobe Premiere Pro.
Oh my goodness! Incredible article dude! Thanks, However I am experiencing
problems with your RSS. I don’t understand why I am unable to subscribe to it.
Is there anybody having identical RSS problems? Anybody who knows
the answer will you kindly respond? Thanx!!
I enjoyed your video on Munich, but I couldn’t find the hotel. You stayed in as it was not mentioned in the itinerary.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! This was our hotel: https://booking.tp.st/qtP8j4lK
